RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: 

Supports the development of strategically robust communication plans that align with the University’s mission and enrollment goals. Designs, develops, and implements cross-channel communication and marketing strategies targeting potential students throughout the enrollment funnel – from prospect to enrollment. Leverages the academic and non-academic accomplishments of CSUCI students, faculty, staff, and alumni in marketing and recruitment artifacts. Utilizes technology and best practices across various platforms and mediums including social media, web design/development integration, email, and print, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM). Develops effective, culturally relevant communication to prospective students, families, and influencers. Adapts to changing higher education enrollment conditions and resource availability and works with internal and external vendors to ensure maximum performance and track its effectiveness. Serves as the primary lead user and manager of Enrollment Management’s (EM) CRM as well other communication tools. Ensures that there is training for EM staff in incorporating communications as part of their daily functions through the CRM. Supervises and manages communication student assistants to assist in production materials and coordination of videos, video blogs, on-line chat rooms, and media to be posted immediately to showcase activities on campus for prospective students and applicants. Assists with the development and collection of content for all admissions publications. Integrates brand awareness and broad campus marketing strategies into the experiences of prospective students, families, and visitors. Ensures that all EM events reflect the values and brand of the University and are developed and implemented to meet enrollment goals. Collaborates with faculty, staff, and current students to create and implement authentic and engaging visit opportunities for prospective students, families, and school counselors. Prepares reports on assessment of communication activities, campus visit experiences, and events. Works with web services to use the latest strategies and techniques to present an ever-changing web presence for prospective students, admitted students, and the public for EM, emphasizing admissions and recruitment pages. Represents the University and assists at programs and events for prospective students, parents, counselors, educators, and community members. Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: 

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in communication, art, business, marketing, journalism, English, or closely related field. Master’s degree preferred.

Experience: At least four years of directly related professional work experience including responsibility for regular production of communications and publication. A master’s degree may be substituted for one year of professional experience. Direct experience working in enrollment marketing in higher education strongly preferred.

Other Knowledge/Skills: Basic or intermediate photography, videography, photo-editing, and video editing skills. Proven ability to be a team player and team builder; to lead and share leadership; and to work for the greater good of the organization. Strong written, oral, interpersonal, and visual arts communication skills; and a demonstrated ability to present clearly and persuasively. Demonstrated ability to write in a style and voice suitable to different audiences and engaging stories for the public. Strong project management skills. Ability to problem solve, take initiative, set priorities, handle multiple projects, and exercise good judgment in a fast pace, dynamic, deadline driven environment. Knowledge of admissions and enrollment funnel cycle to develop appropriate communication and tone. Expertise in using a wide range of communication and design applications including Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel, Adobe Suite, page layout software, web content/design, email, and social networking applications. Experience with graphic design programs, multi-media editing, and development tools. Ability to work with a diverse constituency. Must be willing to work flexible hours in order to participate in some evening and weekend meetings and programs. Valid Driver’s license and reliable form of transportation a must. Local travel may be required with occasional travel throughout the state.

Hiring Range: $7,000-$7,375 per month
