ADMINISTRATOR I

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

Administrative Duties: 

  • Participates in planning, coordination, and implementation of CAPS processes and procedures. 
  • Provides day-to-day oversight of CAPS including ensuring maintenance of adequate staffing and orientation of new staff. 
  • Assumes administrative and clinical responsibility of the clinic in the absence of the Director. 
  • Develops, maintains, revises, and ensures adherence to policies and procedures supporting safe, effective, and ethical professional conduct.  
  • Administrative oversight of the front office ensuring policies and practices are implemented and that important and routine tasks are completed in a timely manner   
  • Serves as an essential contributor to the Leadership of CAPS; provides CAPS Director with critical information and feedback on all core matters related to the success of CAPS.  
  • Provides leadership, planning and oversite of the day-to-day operations of CAPS including ensuring adequate staffing levels are maintained at all times and orientation of new staff in collaboration with, or at the direction of, the CAPS Director.  
  • Participates and collaborates in recruitment, hiring, supervision, evaluation, and disciplinary processes. 
  • Assists in data collection (e.g., client satisfaction surveys, focus groups, etc.) and utilizes data for program evaluation to critically monitor, evaluate and improve provision of services.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and University guidelines.
  • Collaborates with colleagues in the Division of Student Affairs, Academic Affairs and other campus partners on projects and initiatives.  
  • Participates in University, divisional, and unit meetings to promote CAPS services and develop relationships with community and campus partners. 
  • Supports accreditation efforts with the International Accreditation of Counseling Services. 

 Supervision and Training:

  • Leads Clinical Assessment Team meetings, makes case assignments, and monitors client waitlist.  
  • Provides supervision and training to clinical staff, including licensed, unlicensed, and lead clinicians and/or interns/practicum trainees including training goals, documentation of supervision, and completion of evaluations. 
  • Coordinates and supervises Clinical Training Program including development of undergraduate and graduate training opportunities.
  • Contributes to the academic training of students in the allied mental health professions by ensuring trainees receive high quality supervision consistent with APA ethics, standards, and accreditation. 
  • Reviews clinical records of licensed and unlicensed staff for training and quality assurance. 
  • Provides administrative oversight of Mental Health Peer Program.

Clinical Service: 

  • Provides clinical services consistent with APA ethical and professional standards, state laws, and CAPS policies. 
  • Conducts Initial Consultations, crisis intervention, group therapy, and short-term individual counseling to promote overall psychological and academic functioning. 
  • Provides consultation, counseling, outreach, and crisis intervention services to CSUCI students in support of the mission of the clinic, the DSA, and CSUCI.  
  • Assists with campus emergencies and provide crisis consultation to clinical staff and trainees. 
  • Provides case management as needed, particularly for high-risk cases. 
  • Completes clinically appropriate documentation in a timely manner consistent with ethical and accreditation standards, serving as a model for other CAPS clinicians. 

 Performs additional related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program (Ph.D. or. PsyD).
  • Completion of APA-accredited or CAPIC-accredited predoctoral internship. 
  • Independently licensed as a Psychologist in any US state and at least three years of post-licensure clinical experience. 
  • If licensed out of state, ability to obtain licensure in California within six months of hire. 
  • Two or more years’ experience providing clinical supervision to graduate trainees (practicum, intern, and/or postdoctoral), and/or licensed staff.
  • One or more years management experience in a clinical setting. 
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical setting with clients presenting in acute distress. 
  • Experience providing clinical consultation with campus and/or key stakeholders. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge, ability, and experience effectively working with diverse populations. 
  • Demonstrated commitment to cultural humility and continuous professional and interpersonal development in inclusive excellence.  
  • Experience training and/or working in a university counseling center. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Interest and experience in developing a clinical training program. 
  • Prior experience providing clinical supervision to licensed staff. 
  • 3-5 years of progressively complex administration experience in a university counseling center. 
  • Experiencing supervising a clinical training program. 
  • Experience supervising undergraduate peer mentors. 
  • Military veteran.
  • Bilingual.

Hiring Range: $7,917 - $8,334 per month
