Administrative Analyst/Specialist - Exempt I

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: 

Responsible for promoting an inclusive culture of community standards on behalf of the Title IX & Inclusion office, focusing on Education, Prevention, and Compliance-based DEIA initiatives, as well as offering administrative planning and support in service of the Title IX & Inclusion office’s compliance and educational outreach efforts for students, staff, and faculty.

  • Create and oversee a student ambassador or employee program within the office
  • Design training/workshops that utilize evidence-based education practices
  • Creating and overseeing Respondent support services and resources

Program Administration: Performs day-to-day administration for the Title IX program with a variety of complex administrative and technical duties requiring knowledge of CSU Nondiscrimination Policy and corresponding federal law, including but not limited to: program and policy research, analysis, reporting, and evaluation; creating reports to inform methods, policies, and procedures to achieve programmatic compliance; advising on compliance with applicable regulations or requirements governing the program. Responsible for administering the compliance functions noted in CSU Nondiscrimination Policy specific to the Title IX & Inclusion office, including but not limited to determining the method, assignment, and tracking of annual training requirements.  Initiates and implements education and prevention programs and events for students.  Tracks response to education programs and analyzes campus training needs.

Education Compliance: Facilitate and oversee compliance of various educational requirements such as, but not limited to, Annual Student Training, Gender/Equity training for employees, training for Campus Security Authorities, Annual Survey, and Executive Monthly report.

Administrative Planning and Support: Creates reports as needed within the department utilizing existing data, including: monthly executive report, annual reports to the Chancellor’s Office, annual student and annual employee trainings through third-party vendors and annual Clery report. Provides administrative support and coordination for Title IX events, outreach activities, as well as scheduling assistance. Assists with the drafting of outreach materials (including, but not limited to, flyers and brochures, social media postings, website updates, etc.). Represents Title IX and the Division on various Division and University-wide committees, as needed. Serves as a liaison with Human Resources with respect to compliance requests, such as alternative training assignments and accommodations as needed.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:

Education: Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, social work, or related field from an accredited institution required; Master's degree preferred.

Experience: At least two years of working knowledge of the elements of sexual assault prevention and/or equity and inclusion education programming required.  Relevant work experience in a higher education setting required.  Two or more years of collegiate peer education highly preferred.  Direct supervisory experience is preferred. 

Other Knowledge & Skills: Demonstrated ability to design and deliver effective and dynamic presentations.  Ability to analyze emerging adults’ relationships, consent, inclusion, and diversity communication needs, especially college students.  High level of flexibility, accountability, and organizational skills is required.  Must have the ability to work independently and collaboratively when needed.  Must be committed to diversity, especially with regard to protected status.  General knowledge of the techniques for collecting and compiling data, and the means of disseminating educational information to the community through various mass audio or visual media.  Working knowledge of the elements of sexual assault prevention and/or equity and inclusion education programming required. 

Must have excellent customer service, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.  Must be able to communicate effectively with a diverse population of students, faculty, staff and community.  Ability to prepare and deliver informational dialogues and/or lead group discussions using visual and other aids and provide comprehensive and clear answers to questions which are raised by target group audiences; demonstrated ability to conduct interviews or group discussions to obtain data on habits and needs, observe reactions to questions, and record or summarize findings.  Demonstrated ability to conduct research using a variety of sources to develop and prepare education materials; draft staff reports and articles for publication in newsletters and bulletins; and establish and maintain effecting working relationships with peers, target segments of the student community and others.

High level of flexibility, accountability, and organizational skills is required.

Thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation, as well as the ability to clearly communicate orally and in writing.

Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills with the ability to work under defined time constraints.

Ability to work in-person.

Ability to maintain a professional demeanor, multi-task, and follow instructions received verbally and in writing.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. The person holding this position is considered a ‘mandated reporter’ under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 Revised July 21, 2017 as a condition of employment. This person is also a Campus Security Authority of the Clery Act and Executive Order 1107.

Hiring Range:  $4,379 - $5,833 per month
