RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
- Leads the development and implementation of an integrated enrollment marketing and communications strategy aligned with institutional and Enrollment Management goals.
- Serves as the public-facing leader for enrollment marketing initiatives and recruitment outreach efforts.
- Oversees brand positioning, storytelling, and audience-centered messaging for prospective student recruitment.
- Leads the strategic use of Slate CRM to support recruitment marketing, including communication campaigns, audience segmentation, enrollment funnel management, and performance tracking.
- Partners closely with Admissions and Recruitment leadership to align marketing strategy with recruitment priorities, enrollment events, and prospective student engagement initiatives.
- Collaborates closely with Communications and Public Relations to ensure alignment with institutional brand standards and messaging.
- Directs the development, evaluation, and continuous improvement of enrollment marketing and communication assets.
- Develops and manages departmental budgets and annual strategic marketing plans.
- Leverages data, analytics, and performance metrics to evaluate marketing effectiveness and inform strategic decision-making.
- Oversees enrollment marketing staff.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in communication, art, business, marketing, journalism, English, or closely related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Experience: At least four years of directly related professional work experience including responsibility for regular production of communications and publication. A master’s degree may be substituted for one year of professional experience. Direct experience working in enrollment marketing in higher education is strongly preferred.

- Demonstrated ability to build collaborative teams, foster shared leadership, and work effectively toward institutional and enrollment goals.
- Proven ability to analyze challenges, exercise sound judgment, take initiative, and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and visual communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to craft compelling narratives and adapt writing style and voice to engage prospective students, families, and other key audiences.
- Working knowledge of photography, videography, and multimedia storytelling, with the ability to guide creative direction and oversee production of visual and digital content.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize initiatives, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of the admissions recruitment cycle and enrollment funnel, including the development of communications and marketing strategies appropriate to each stage of the student journey.
- Experience with a broad range of marketing, communication, and design tools, including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel), Adobe Creative Suite, web content management systems, email marketing platforms, and social media applications.
- Familiarity with CRM systems used in enrollment management, such as Slate, to support communication campaigns, segmentation, and recruitment engagement strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse constituencies, including students, families, faculty, staff, and external partners.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, to support recruitment programs and institutional events.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required; local travel and occasional statewide travel may be necessary.
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. The person holding this position is considered a ‘Campus Security Authority (CSA)’ to report crimes for the federally mandated Clery Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1107 revised March 24, 2017 as a condition of employment.
The person holding this position is considered a ‘mandated reporter’ under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 Revised July 21, 2017 as a condition of employment.
This position may be "Designated" under California State University's Conflict of Interest Code. This would require the filing of a Statement of Economic Interest on an annual basis and the completion of training within 6 months of assuming office and every 2 years thereafter.

Hiring Range: $8,000-$9,000 per month
