Administrative Analyst/Specialist Exempt I


Serves as the functional business analyst for the PeopleSoft Campus Solutions Student Records module and associated systems. Responsible for keeping up to date on student records regulations, PeopleSoft releases, and monitor module discussion groups. Works on system development and training as it relates to records, registration, and graduation related items. Recommends and implements solutions to manage processes in an efficient manner, to improve customer service, or to improve productivity. Designs project plans for a successful and timely implementation of projects. Assesses, evaluates, and implements a broad range of high impact functionality for the Registrar’s office by evaluating available functionality from Oracle, analyzing the needs of the department, and collaborating with other campuses. Works as part of a team that develops new or updates business processes, and writes documentation for those processes, where procedures and guidelines may not exist. Works on continued maintenance of the system by implementing new setup, updating existing setup, running batch processes, building queries, coordinating maintenance pack testing, and reviewing security requests. Troubleshoots reported system errors and works in collaboration with Information Technology Services and vendors to deliver a solution. Assists with Enrollment Reporting to the Chancellor’s Office and reports enrollment data to campus constituents. Research, design, test and implement projects associated to CSU Executive Orders, CSU coded memorandums, campus policy or state law. Works with ITS to automate processes that run overnight, recommends and tests enhancements with ITS and other business analysts in the department and across campus. Provides system recommendations to directors in Enrollment Management to ensure compliance with Federal, State and campus policies, including Assembly Bills, Senate Bills and CSU coded memos. Collaborates with Enrollment Management office end users to identify needs. Informs supervisor of project status, deviation from production goals, potential impact on other areas, and recommends solutions. Represents the Students Systems office at campus and statewide meetings. Performs additional related duties as assigned.


A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is preferred. Knowledge of Admissions and Records business practices, preferably in the California State University system. Knowledge of PeopleSoft query manager is preferred. Excellent verbal, written communication, and math skills. Ability to organize and plan work and projects, including handling multiple projects. Thorough knowledge of Admissions and Records and ability to implement system setup according to laws, regulations, and campus policy. Ability to research, analyze date, and provide results to leadership. Experience and proficiency using MS Office applications and experience with the following systems preferred: PeopleSoft, Transcript ordering systems, Degree Audit system.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who apply for the position.

This position is eligible to participate in the telecommute program.  Approval should come from the department administrator and reviewed every six months, as the business needs may change at any given time.

Hiring Range:$4,170 - $5,422 per month
